Sofia Bianchi – Founding Partner

Sofia has over 35 years of transaction experience mostly in private equity, structured debt financing, distressed and M&A mostly in emerging markets.   In 2016 she founded Atlante Capital Partners, a special situations and turnaround advisory which focuses on actively unlocking value and liquidity from distressed situations.

Between 2018 and 2020 she also served as Head of Special Situation as well as a member of the Investment Committee for Debt and Infrastructure at the CDC Group.

As Head of Special Situations/Illiquids at BlueCrest Capital Management from 2008 to 2016, she oversaw the orderly liquidation of a $750m special situations portfolio mostly invested in emerging markets.

Prior to BlueCrest, Sofia worked on setting up and co-managed the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), the first debt fund for Africa ($450m).  Before EAIF, she was a senior banker at the EBRD covering the Balkans, Russia and the telecom sectors in Central and Eastern Europe.  She also worked as a member of the International Privatisation Group of Price Waterhouse.  She started her career in the international M&A group of Hoare Govett and Prudential Bache.

Sofia maintains a number of directorships in listed and private companies.  Sofia holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from George Washington University.
