Shabu Qureshi - Partner
Shabu has over 30 years experience in finance and investment having analyzed, structured and managed a wide variety of securitised and private assets, with a focus on emerging markets. At Atlante, Shabu brings his investment experience to optimise portfolio strategy and returns.
Prior to working at Atlante, Shabu founded Q Capital, an investment company that owns a real estate portfolio, as well as several special situation private equity and debt investments in the infrastructure, software, business process outsourcing and artificial intelligence industries.
Shabu managed EMP Global’s MENA investments, and was responsible for successfully exiting the EMP managed IDB Infrastructure Fund, a $730 million private equity fund with investments in the MENA region, achieving a gross IRR of over 20%. Divestments included a variety of infrastructure sectors: power generation, aviation and airport management, telecom, toll roads, mining and petrochemicals, and spanning multiple jurisdictions: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan & Qatar, Turkey, Malaysia, Guinea, and Bangladesh. Several of the investments were mandated to be shariah-compliant.
Prior to that he worked at Salomon Brothers as a emerging markets bond trader and salesman, where he worked on securities and loan trading. He started his career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Shabu is a graduate of Swarthmore College and holds a MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
